It seems that this transaction did not go as smoothly as all the parties involved would have liked, so I'm posting this to address some concerns. Firstly, Nick chose to approach PSA first because of the dire financial situation they were in (something that I can't go to into detail for privacy reasons), I'm sure many of you noticed that the PSAclub.net website was suspended for a while. I will also make it very clear that PSA is not being run by GTAN, it is still a complete and independent entity.
What are the benefits for PSA? Well there are many so lets break it down:
1) GTAN offers free hosting to PSA and this allows the staff to focus both time and money on other club activities.
2) By joining our network PSA gains access to many more users and thus has the ability to attract more members.
3) GTAN as a website is already pulling in more traffic than PSA club on its own, this means that PSA now has more potential clients to i.e. sell club gear to.
4) Let's face it the car scene in Ontario is in a tough situation and many clubs have closed simply because they have little events to attend and even less reason to do so. GTAN will fill this void, and through the events that GTAN will be hosting we hope to bring back the fun and competitive environment.
Finally I would like to address the concern about who will run PSAClub as it seems like the former admins are going to be pursuing other interests. Temporarily that gap will be filled by Nick and myself. For those who are not familiar with what creditionals Nick and I have I will tell you:
Nick
- Founder of Vitalmotion, one of the largest clubs in the tri-cities and under his ownership one that was extremely prestigious.
- VM had well over 7 million views a month under Nick
- Well over 6 years of successful club management under his belt
- Well over 8 years of web experience under his belt
Me (Bakir)
- One of three founders of PSAClub.net, a club that would end up taking club of the year at CSCS in its first year of operation.
- 7+ years of web and coding experience
- 3+ years of club management
Once things settle down we will look to transition management responbilities to a dedicated team of PSA members.
I hope this address some of the community concerns, if anyone has any questions, suggestions, or comments I urge you to get in touch with me as soon as possible.
Thanks for your time,
Bakir
