I've just taken out my old deck and all. I'm now trying to wire up the new deck.. but i'm not sure what i'm doing and the old setup is confusing me.

Below is the diagram for my car. I previously had a clarion deck.
The new deck has:
-Memory Backup
-Power
-Ground
-Auto Antenna B(+)
and a (+) and (-) wire for each speaker.

and when trying to wire it up.. I tried to match the wires up. And pins 2, 7, 9, 12, and 13 were all snipped and didn't go to the old deck.

Is my diagram below wrong? I tried to find a diagram for the clarion deck but had no luck.. that would help alot to have though.

anyone have any intel for me?

Come out to the meet on Wednesday and I will look at it with you. I have done these several times.

^ nothing for hyundai on there.

I got a harness.. but it doesn't click into my factory one like it should.

Right now i'm figuring out the speaker wires with a AA battery..

Ahh, good thing I said 90% of the cars ;) haha..

hmm weird, has the stock harness been changed or anything? it should fit unless you have a wrong harness when you got it at the store?

it says Hyundai 1990-2002 on the harness. And the existing one appears to be stock.

I've found all 8 speaker wires and that leaves me with only three wires. (From previous deck)

and on the harness for the new deck I have Memory backup, power, ground, and auto-antenna.. I'm assuming I can eliminate the auto-antenna? (although it was used before)

The Auto-antenna wire was spliced and used as a remote wire for my amp.

ah, thats because it has a constant 12v then thats why it can be used for remote. memory backup im going to assume is yellow, and then red and black for ground and positive? that should be whats left?

I went back and switched the harness for the RIGHT harness! Brought my old one in to make sure.

Everything matched up nicely.. remote wire with "amp turn on" memory backup mated with "12v memory!" etc...
All the colours matched as well :)

I've been soldering away ever since!

I'll be trying it out soon.. hope there's no explosions.
(Only wires not used are "illumination" and "auto-antenna")

thanks for the help!

everything works fine... except the radio.

The deck has a slight voltage running between it and the chassis :S (004V reading at 2000m)

It cuts out the radio once it's mounted. Tried to insulate the screws and other places it touches but no luck. :(

what kind of deck is it?

Obviously not a lot of people are very helpful lol...

Yellow is your constant (memory) so find it a constant 12v
Red is your accessory so find it a switched 12v (12v when the key is on)
Black is your ground so obviously find it a ground
White is your left front speaker positive
White/Black is your left front speaker negative
Gray is your right front speaker positive
Gray/Black is your right front speaker negative
Green is your left rear speaker positive
Green/Black is your left rear speaker negative
Purple is your right rear speaker positive
Purple/Black is your right rear speaker negative
Blue is your power antenna
Blue/White is Remote wire (amp wire)

But before you cut your factory plugs go to a Future Shop and tell them that you need a harness for such and such a car and they will get u a plug that works its 16.99. Just because the one you have says it should fit does not mean it will trust me....

then what is orange?

The Orange wire is USUALLY the Dash light switch, when you turn the lights on it dims the deck!!

orange is labeled as "illumination"

everything is fine now! The screws for mounting were picking something up and causing the slight voltage through the case to the car.

I got a full plastic trim piece/mounting bracket and that problem was no more.
