What im not looking forward to it, its my own personal opinion. That is what the OP asked for. I know alot of guys that are going to be lapping and what the sounds of it is going to be packed therefore I am not looking forward to the large amount of cars and potentially waiting in a line to get on the track.
JP you need to read stuff first before making judgements, you have made you self look like a fool many times because of this

go lapping, you will LOVE it, and I will love seeing that protege in full flight more than anyhting.
To the original poster….CSCS does a good job running their lapping days, keep in mine you don’t get a full day, they hose a drifting event plus a time attack event….this takes up 3-4 hours of the day, with that being said you still get plenty of track time.
They split the cars up in two groups, Fast and not so Fast…
Anytime you get a chance to do a lapping day you should take advantage of it or as much as you can, it’s best way to learn how to drive and understand what your car can/will do under extreme conditions with some proper guidance.
I do most of the time attack events, if you have any questions or would like some ride a longs feel free to hit me up…. I’ll be in the black RX7 :)

I've never done lapping at CSCS, but it's worthwile to go lapping if you enjoy driving your car hard. It's nice to do it in a controlled environment just in case things go for a shit you have services there. If you're nevous start slow and work your speed up as you become more comfortable with the track and the car. Key: TRACK WALK
Remember lapping is about having fun with you car and not about setting the track record. Don't worry about passing or being passed. If you find you're slower let the fast boys by in the passing zone so it's fun for everyone.
I also hope to try open lapping some where this summer.
Everyone I have talked to says its a blast and you have to try it at least once.
im sort of agreeing with mooner here, he does have a good point
lots of ppl will be out this year and lots of first timers, including myself, which makes me wounder how safe the track will really be when its packed
just a thought, will be fun for sure, im sure they will regulate it and take care of it all

sounds liek it will be fun, and about it being busy is there not a set amount of people alowed in? i thought it was like that last year, i still need my exhaust done and to get it tuned :) hope to get it done by then

If it's run anywhere half decent there is a maxium number of cars allowed on the track at any given time. This gives some space and helps to prevent accidents and demo derby action.
yea im sure there is a limit
which also means lots of ppl + limit on track = long waits lol
JPE16
04-13-2009, 10:20 PM
yeah, there's only so many people allowed on track at a time, there'll just be more sessions if there's more people.
also remember to look ahead, there was an instance last year where cars were stopped on the frotn straight, and everyone coming around the corner who wasnt looking past the apex (like they should be) almost collected all the stopped cars.
also, as we unfortunately learned last year, dont take your car to the track if you're not mentally prepared to come home without it. unfortuantely shit happens.

I'd love to try but would die if I couldn't drive home! lol

Yeah. If I get any of these cars I'm looking at, you'll all see me on the track. Lapping days and AutoX's.
I would cry if my car didn't come home, but as JP said, shit happens.

Unless your car is seriously mechanically unfit there's no problem driving to an event, lapping, then driving home. You have no worse of a chance writing off a car at the lapping day then driving to and from it.
Remember: Lapping, not racing.

i think there talking about breaking/blowing up not writing the car off, no matter how you put it driving your car pretty much full out for a long period of time is hard on parts, alot harder then driving to and from work. don't worry im bringing a tow bar :)

you have to remember you're not the only one out there, and shit does happen. It happened last year, and it was unfortunate. If you're not prepared to leave without your car, don't go.

Of course you're not the only cars there and shit does indeed happen (why does it always seem to happen to me!?!?!) But track car limit and specified passing zones help a lot with that. I'm unaware of the happenings last year but I've also seen cars go sideways off the track luckily without incident. Catch a rut and it doesn't take much before you've had a bad day. With that being said even though the driving is much more agressive you're probably far more likely to have an incident on the way to or home from the track. So really you should be just as prepared in either case. Any mildly modded car or car with a decent tune and is mechanically fit for the road should have no problems hitting the rev limiter (if that's where your power is) all day long. May need a few brake bleeds, but other than that it'll be fine.
